One new country, the Ukraine, seems to enter the Eurovision Song Contest 2003, despite it being semi-officially decided by the EBU that no new countries were to enter. The EBU is yet to give an official statement as to why the decision was reversed.

The full list of participants for 2003 is as follows (subject to admittance and in alphabetical order – draw is yet to take place):

AUSTRIA – BELGIUM – BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA – CROATIA – CYPRUS – ESTONIA – FRANCE – GERMANY – GREECE – ICELAND – IRELAND – ISRAEL – LATVIA – MALTA – NETHERLANDS – NORWAY – POLAND – PORTUGAL – ROMANIA – RUSSIA – SLOVENIA – SPAIN – SWEDEN – TURKEY – the UKRAINE – the UNITED KINGDOM.

The logo competition is closed, and Latvian state broadcaster Latvija Televizija expects to announce the 2003 venue by the end of this week.
