The Estonian national final to select the country's 2007 Eurovision Song contest entry,Eurolaul, saw a strong increase in viewing figures compared to 2006. The number of viewers watching the show was 302,000 on national television, up from 268,000 in 2006.

The figures will please the national broadcaster, ETV, who also report that 18,000 tuned into the internet webcast of the show live. A further 128,000 watched Gerli Padar win the right to represent Estonia in Helsinki.

A total of 174,273 SMS/televotes were registered over the two rounds of voting, with 55,324 for the first round and 118,949 for the superfinal. Gerli won a total of 55,416 in the second phase to follow her former Eurovision Song Contest winning brother to the Eurovision stage.

Estonia will have to compete in the semi-final this year, as Sandra Oxenryd with Through my window didn't qualify to the Athens' final last year.
