As announced earlier, the Dutch representative for the Eurovision Song Contest will be presented tonight in the television show Mooi! Weer de Leeuw. The Netherlands will send a familiar face to the contest: Edsilia Rombley!
Edsilia Rombley participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 with the song Hemel en aarde. She finished 4th, the best Dutch result since 1975. Although she earlier saidwould notto return to the Eurovision Song Contest again, she will go to Helsinki next May to represent her country for a second time. The reason? Paul de Leeuw persuaded her to do so.
On 11th February, Edsilia will sing three or four songs in a special edition of Mooi! Weer de Leeuw. One of them will be here song for Helsinki. Edsilia will pick these songs from her next album, which will be released next year, although she said that if someone send in a real good song for her, she might consider singing that as well.
When asked by Paul de Leeuw, Edsilia said thatshe will definately sing her song in Dutch because that is the language she enjoyes most success in.
