Denmark 2014: Join us for Melodi Grand Prix Concert on May 3 in Copenhagen

 Join us in Copenhagen, 2014 Eurovision Song Contest slogan and host city is already proving to be very effective. Indeed, on Saturday 3rd May 2014, right in the middle of the two Eurovision Song contest weeks, the B&W Ballroom, our host venue for 2014, will see a big Eurovision concert featuring past Danish entries.

Performers will include 2000 winners The Olsen Brothers, 1990 Lonnie Devantier or 1961 Dario Campoetto. The concert called En Hyldestkoncert (Tribute concert) til Melodi Grand Prix 1957-2014, will include Lei and Lupe Moe as choir singers who have been performing in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (The Danish National Song Contest) for years and will be hosted by Jørgen De Mylius who has been the host of the Danish national final show dozen of times and the commentator of the Grand Final 24 times.

Songs and performers of the evening are:

1957: Michael Winckler (son of Gustav Winckler) in duet with Tina Siel for Skibet Skal Sejle I Nat. Original sung by Gustav Winckler and Birthe Wilke.

1960: To Lys På Et Bord by James Rasmussen from band Four Jacks. Original sung by Otto Brandenburg part of the band.

1961: Dario Campeotto with Angelique

1963:  Dansevise will be performed by a choir. Originally sung by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann

1981: Debbie Cameron and Erik Delete Ting will sing Krøller eller Ej (Tommy Seebach’s cousin). Originally sung by Debbie Cameron and Tommy Seebach.

1982: Jens Brixtofte with Video Video.

1983: Gry Johansen with Kloden Drejer.

1984: Kirsten Siggard and Søren Bundgaard singing Det’ lige det.

1989: Birthe Kjær singing Vi maler byen rød.

1990: Lonnie Devantier singing Hallo Hallo.

1992: Kenny and Lotte singing  Alt det som ingen ser.

2000: Olsen Brothers singing  Smuk som et stjerneskud. The Danish version of Fly on the wings of love.

2001: Søren Poppe singing Der står et billede af dig på mit bord.

2005 : Jacob Svejstrup singing Tænder på dig.

Tickets cost 998 kr. (Approx.134€) and include a welcome drink, a dinner buffet with a Grand Prix cake especially made by Conditori La Glace (Denmark’s oldest confectionery, founded in 1870), free coffee and Hansen’s ice cream (Denmark high quality ice cream) , free beer, wine and water during diner with stronger alcoholic drinks after, the concert and free parking or transport to the city centre.
