Manuel Ortega is suffering from a sore throat and chest infection just a day before the Eurovision Song Contest, where he should perform for Austria.
The Austrian broadcaster ORF reported that “Ortaga's performance is unsure due to his illness”.
Manuel Ortega has picked up a severe throat infection and has developed congestion on his lungs, though everyone in his camp is hoping he will be well enough to make the rehearsals on Friday and the final on Saturday.
Manuel Ortega rests on his doctors' advice and he got strong antibiotics, spending Thursday completely resting to give his voice time to heal. He will be boosted today when his family and two best friends arrive in Tallinn. It is expected that he will hold back a little for the Friday dress rehearsal to sure of making a full recovery by Saturday, although the reports from ORF are persimistic.
In the history of the contest, it never happened an artist had to cancel his or her performance due to illness. Let's hope this won't happen this week.
