In 2004, Serbia & Montenegro took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time and came second. After two entries, it's over. In a referendum, Montenegro voted in favour of independency with a 55,5 percent majority.
During this year's national selection, controversy surrounding the national final resulted in the decision not to send any participant. Due to the country's late withdrawal, no song was submitted but the country was allowed to vote. It would be Serbia & Montenegro's third and last Eurovision Song Contest vote.
It's likely that Serbia and Montenegro, as two seperate countries, will continue to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. However, as the Montenegrin broadcaster failed to broadcast the complete semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest, it's possible that the European Broadcasting Union does not allow Montenegro into the competition in 2007 yet.
