Bruno Berberes, head of the French delegation, made a remarkable statement during the French press conference, which just took place.
"Many people came to me and made compliments about the quality of our song. But they also added that we will not win with this. Do they suggest Europe has no taste?", he asked the present journalists and fans? "We would like to encourage quality in the competition. This means that even if we don't make it to the top-10 or even top-15, we will continue to compete in the contest", he added.
After this promise, he emphasised again that France will "never leave the competition" and that French television is eager to continue sending in "quality songs" into the Eurovision Song Contest.
During the French press conference, Virginie also presented the Greek version of her entry, written by former participant Alexandros Panayi. It will be performed tonight, during the joint party of the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany, the so-called Big4Party. Also at the party, Séverine, the winner from Monaco in 1971 will perform the German version of her song.
