Bulgarian broadcaster BNT received 126 songs for its 2006 national selection, which is 22 more than last year. 24 songs will make it to the national selection, the names will be announced on 4th February.
On 25th February, a jury will bring back the number of songs to 12 in a live broadcast. The 12 final participants will perform their song in a televised national selection on 11th March.
Last year, the band Kaffe was accused of generating SMS votes through specially bought SIM cards. However, the band represented Bulgaria in Kyiv and didn't make it to the final. Therefore, Bulgaria will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest's semifinal on 18th May in Athens, Greece.
