As reported on the official Eurovision 2002 website eurovision.tv, India will be added as 25th participant to the contest. Some are shocked, but the desicion has been made April 1. And who knows what that means 😉 ?

“The main reason for allowing India to participate at Eurovision 2002 is the rising interest in the Song Contest. In the words of Janek Mäggi, the Manager of the Internet Gateway eurovision.tv the website has been visited by twenty Hindus already”, can be read on the official site.

India will be represented by singer Hemant Alladiya with the song 'Delhi' in the Urdu language.

The e-mail with the announcement has also been e-mailed to press contacts all over Europe. We love April 1…
