The Public TV Company of Armenia confirms the interest in a participation in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. The Armenian broadcaster is an Active Member of the European Broadcasting Union since last week and now meets with the requirements for applying for a Eurovision Song Contest participation.
“The Public TV Company of Armenia has intentions to apply for participating in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest,” the Armenian broadcaster informs esctoday.com. The Public TV Company of Armenia has already broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal and final in 2004 and 2005.
“The project became really very popular in our country.” Ms Mnatsakanyan explains. “We have acquired the rights of broadcasting the event in 2006 and 2007 as well and I can just imagine millions of heartbeats of Armenian people living in our country and abroad when they can watch our representative in the show someday.”
So far, the plans however remain intentions. “We need to know where to start from and how to make it possible. It is not that easy.” the Public TV Company of Armenia concludes.
