One final
Right after the semifinal in Kyiv, in which Glennis Grace did not manage to qualify for the final with her song My impossible dream, Dutch television announced to drop the semifinal format for its national selection and to organize one final in 2006, hosted by Paul de Leeuw.

No venue yet
“Behind the scenes we're working hard on the format for next year's national selection. Because the final takes place in March, we have more time to think over several possibilities”, Rolf de Wit said. It could not yet be confirmed where next year's national final takes place, Dutch fans generally hope it will take place in the Ahoy' sports palace in Rotterdam, where the event took place in 2000, 2001 and 2003. So far, the venue is available on 12th March. Earlier, NOS excluded the possibility that the 2006 final would take place in Ahoy', but at this moment nothing could be said about a venue yet.

No TROS
The Dutch public television system exists of several broadcasing companies. For the past three years, NOS co-operated with TROS for the organization of the national selection. For next year's national selection, TROS will not be involved anymore.

The Netherlands participates in the semifinal of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place on 18th May in Athens, Greece.
