Last night the Mediterranean Party took place in the EuroClub, and once again esctoday.com was there to cover proceedings. The party was hosted by Greece, Cyprus and Malta, and excitement levels were high with each country quietly confident of a good result on Saturday at the Eurovision Song Contest. The special guest of the evening was last years winning singer, Ruslana, who chose not to sing on stage, dancing with fans on the dance floor instead.

With each country already qualified for the final after last years result, the party began during the evening dress rehearsal of the semifinal. Helena Paparizou of Greece, Constantinos Christoforou of Cyprus and Chiara of Malta each took turns to perform their songs and supported one another on stage. They also performed their previous Eurovision entries, Helena performed Die for you, Constantinos performedGimme gimme and Chiara performed The one that I love.

Greenjolly, the Ukrainian entry for the 50th Eurovision Song Contest arrived and performed their entry Razom nas bahato with the Mediterranean singers supporting passionately during the chorus.

Martin Stenmarck of Sweden was also in attendance as was Glam from Norways Wig Wam. Paddy OConnell, the BBC presenter for the semi-final and various song writers and composers were at the party to support the event. Following the official acts, Eurovision music carried on long into the night, with the final party revellers leaving the event shortly after 04:00 this morning.
