Ruslana raised the flag and officially opened the Eurocamp on the Trukhaniv Island last night. From this day and forward the Eurocamp will be open to the public offering a wide variety of entertainment events and extreme adventures.

The opening ceremony began with six young people bringing the bright yellow flag of the camp, while the Ukrainian Wild Dancer Ruslana was firing up the crowd along with her musicians and people's eager cheering. “I am happy and honoured to raise this flag, the symbol of cultural unity and a common spirit. It is of the colour of the sun and joy, and will carry on enlightening all of the activities in this camp, during daytime and at night,” Ruslana said.

The winner of last year's Eurovision Song Contest also had a chance to see the sand sculptures dedicated to her, which were put in the Eurocamp in the framework of the Kyiv International Festival of Sand Sculpture and Land Art. One of them, named Dances with wolves, featured Ruslana's face upheld by three strong wolves. Another sculpture, named In a heartbeat, featured Ruslana lying on a stone with a wolf by her feet.

I don't even know how to react to such beauty and commitment. When I think about time and efforts that were dedicated to the creation of such incredible pieces of art, I want to devote my songs to their authors. They are very talented artists and I am sure that great future is waiting for
them,
” Ruslana said emotionally.

During the following week the Eurocamp will host a great number of exclusive events, concerts and parties, and all the guest and visitors of the Eurovision Song Contest are welcome to join.
