Four hosts for this year’s Romanian selection in which 148 songs were submitted. Paula Seling and Ovi who got a respectable third place for Romania in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest will once again host this year’s Romanian selection better known as Selectia Nationala. Two other hosts will be Andreea Bănică and Marius Rizea. Andreea is a popular singer in Romania while Marius is an actor and comedian.

The four hosts will play the role of the Swedish legendary group ABBA. Infact Romanian broadcaster TVR stated that the Romanian selection will be hosted by ABBA. It is expected that in the shows the hosts will perform some of the hits by ABBA, including their Eurovision winning entry in 1974 Waterloo.

As from today until till 14 February, a professional jury are listening to the live performances of the submitted songs. The auditions are being held in the most important Romanian cities :

• Iaşi (6 February)
• Cluj-Napoca (8 February)
• Timişoara (10 February)
• Craiova (12 February)
• Bucharest (14 February)

The jury will announce the semifinalists on 18 February. Depending on the quality of the songs, 24 to 28 acts will qualify.

This is what the rest of the schedule is looking like :

23 February – first semi-final
24 February – second semi-final
9 March – grand final

Romania will compete in the second semi-final of the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest on 16 May.
