“The renovation of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest venue, the Palats Sportu in Kiev, must be finished by 20th April.” Pavel Gricak, executive producer of the event told that on a press conference in Kiev today. With mobile operator KievStar, the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest also found a new sponsor.
The Sports Palace is currently being transformed into a worthy Eurovision Song Contest venue. The most important adjustment being executed is the placing of commentator boxes. In the near future, elevators and air conditioning will be installed.
When the renovation of the building is finished, host broadcaster NTU can start with the final preparations for the contest. As of 23th April new equipment and security systems should be installed in the Sports Palace and NTU can prepare the venue for the first rehearsals to be held three weeks later.
The 2005 Eurovision Song Contest consists of a semifinal to be held on 19th May and a final two days later, on 21st May.
