Portuguese broadcaster RTP has invited three composers to write the possible Portuguese entry for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The three composers are José da Ponte, Alexandre Honrado and Ernesto Alves. A singer has not yet been named.

The first real news from Portugal appeared in Jornal de Notícias today. The Portuguese newspaper states that national broadcaster RTP has invited three composers to write a song for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. A singer has however not been mentioned yet.

The three composers are José da Ponte, Alexandre Honrado and Ernesto Alves. José da Ponte co-wrote the 1991 Portuguese entry Lusitana paixão. Performed by Dulce, the song finished 8th in Rome. Alexandre Honrado is the composer of Voar, a song recorded by Joana Melo who participated in Operação Triunfo 1.

RTP will internally select a singer for Kiev. The Portuguese broadcaster has the time till 20th March to make a final decision.
