First Deputy Culture Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Karachevsky, told news agency Belta that “participation of Belarussian artists in Eurovision should continue”. According to the Belarussian official, Eurovision is an “unpredictable” contest and the result “does not always depend on “the quality of the vocal performance”.

As a professional musician himself, Mr Karachevsky expressed his opinion on Litesound’s performance in the semifinal: “They did everything they could, they did not panic, the number was clean, with no failures. What can they do.”

“The issue of possible changes to the format of Eurovision require discussion, but participation in this contest must go on. In any case, we will not give up. Must keep trying”.

Litesound came 16th in the second semifinal of Eurovision 2012 with the song ‘We are the heroes’.
