93 songs have been submitted for the first ever national Eurovision Song Contest selections in Bulgaria. On 19th January, Bulgarian broadcaster BNT will officially announce the 24 songs, selected for a preliminary round to take place on 22nd January. The songs, selected by a jury of experts, will be announced during the television news and on BNT's website.

The order of appearance for the preliminary round will be determined by a lottery in the presence of journalists and representatives of the Bulgarian musical industry. On 21st January the 24 selected singers will have a first chance to rehearse for the live broadcast. Each performer will have 15 minutes to perform his/her song up to 3 times.

On 22nd January, the live broadcast of the preliminary round will take place. During this show, a jury will select 12 songs to proceed to the final of the Bulgarian Eurovision Song Contest selections. This final will take place on 12th February.

The selected song will represent Bulgaria in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May 2005 in Kiev.
