Polish national broadcaster TVP has published the rules of this year's selection of a representative for the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.
As we reported earlier there will be no public final this year in Poland. TVP decided to select its entry internally, mostly because of financial reasons, but also because the Polish audience created the habit to vote for the biggest artist rather than the best song in the national final.
The rules say that the song may not be longer than 3 minutes or be published before 1st December 2004. Both performing artist and author of the song should be at least 16 on 16th May 2005. The rules don't mention that the Polish citizenship is required. Everyone can thus submit a song, not only Polish residents.
The deadline for submitting songs to the Polish internal selection is 20th January 2005. The song to represent Poland at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest will be selected before 29th January 2005. OGAE Poland will be involved in the selection procedure.
