Family members of the Lebanese singer Aline Lahoud, daughter of the Lebanese singer Salwa Al Qatreeb, officially confirmed to esctoday.com that she will represent her country at the 50th Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Kiev.
Besides the name of the first Lebanese Eurovision Song Contest participant we can also tell you exclusively that mister Jad Rahbani has been asked to compose a suitable song for the 23-year old Aline Lahoud.
In September this year, Aline Lahoud represented Lebanon at Megahit, the Mediterranean Song Contest. With the song It's over, composed by Jad Rahbani, she finished 6th and won the Fidof award.
The Lebanese broadcaster Télé Liban last week confirmed to esctoday.com that they will participate in the upcoming contest. The European Broadcasting Union could not yet confirm this, even though the official registration period for broadcasters has been closed since 31st October. The EBU will reveal the list of participants within two weeks.
