Enric Castellet, president of broadcaster RTVA, announced the plans for Andorra's 2005 national final. At first, RTVA decided to select internally, but after all they decided to organise a national final. Unlike last year, the Spanish Catalan broadcaster TV3 will not be involved.

According to the information published by newspaper El periódico, Castellet said: “We thought about organising an internal selection, but after many doubts we decided to organise a national final, especially due to the hight interest of the audience”. However, the national selection format will be different from last year's 12 punts format.

“The selection takes place in two phases. During the first one we will organise a casting. Everyone interested has to sign in during the 26th Feria d'Andorra la Vella, which starts Friday. 36 singers will be selected, in November and December the audience will get the opportunity to select the best ones after watching a videoclip of all their 36 songs. The audience will use televote and SMS to select three finalists. In the second phase, the song will be selected. A jury and the audience will choose the best song”, Castellet explained. More information about how RTVA wants to select songs has not been made public.

RTVA 's president also commented that they “learned from last year's errors” and that they will promote Andorra in Kiev with support of Andorra's tourism ministery.
