Swedish broadcaster SVT has made a first selection in the more than 3000 songs that were submitted for Melodifestivalen 2005 and published a list with the titles of the 1200 songs that survived the first selection round.

The 1200 song titles can be found from A to Z on melodifestivalen.se.

By 17th October at 18:00 CET a second selection should be executed and 100 songs should be left. Out of these songs a jury will select 28 songs for Melodifestivalen 2005. That list will be announced on 19th October.

Additionally four wild cards (songwriters approached by SVT) will directly enter the semi finals of Melodifestivalen 2005. The wild cards will be announced by the end of the year. SVT claims that priority will be given to songs performed in the native language and guarantees at least 10 songs in Swedish in the national selection of 32 songs.
