Ukraine provides budget of 3,3 million Euro

The Ukrainian parliament provides a state budget of 20,8 million Ukrainian Hryvnas, almost 3,3 million Euros, for the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Ukrainian capital Kiev will host the contest on 19th and 21st May 2005.

The explanatory note to the draft law of Ukraine On the state budget for 2005 includes the budget to be spent on the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Ukrainian state provides 20,8 million Ukrainian Hryvnas, almost 3,3 million Euro.

For the second time, the Eurovision Song Contest will be spread over two evenings: a qualifyer round on 19th May and a final on 21st May 2005. A part of the budget will be used to renovate the Sports Palace in Kiev, the venue where the contest will be held.
