Cliff Richard is about to release a country album. Cliff Richard represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contests in 1968 and 1973, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Cliff moved from EMI to Universal after EMI announced that they didn't see any chances for another album from the 63 year old singer. After 46 years (!) Cliff left EMI and signed a contract for one album at Universal.

In cooperation with Barry Gibb and a lot of young songwriters, Cliff has already recorded his first album for Universal in Nashville. On this album, Cliff will sing country songs, a new genre for the most successful British singer ever. The release of the album, which is entitled “Something's going on” is scheduled for November 2004. If the album is successful, Universal will continue the contract.
