After winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem in 1999, Charlotte Perelli (Nilsson) looked forward to having an important role at the first Eurovision Song Contest of the new millennium. Sveriges Television SVT however only wanted her to be the flower girl. Charlotte explained the case once again in Helt Ärligt on TV4.

Charlotte unburdened herself in the TV-show Helt Ärligt (Completely honest) on Swedish channel TV4. Charlotte told host Linda Nyberg that she felt aggrieved and disappointed about the way SVT treated her after her victory at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1999.

Charlotte expected that she would have at least been invited to sing her winning song Take me to your heaven at the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm the year after. But that wasn't the case. SVT only offered her the job of flower girl. A disappointed Charlotte refused the job of giving flowers to the winner and went to Los Angeles instead.

Now, almost five years later, Charlotte still feels a little bit disappointed but is happy to know that her job as one of the three hosts at this year's Melodifestivalen was highly appreciated. After hosting the Swedish Eurovision selections Charlotte received several offers from different Swedish channels and became the host of the show Super Troupers.

Whether Charlotte will also host Melodifestivalen 2005 is unknown yet. Lena Philipsson, this year's Swedish representative recently announced that she is interested in the job too.
