The EBU has appointed Alexandr Savenko, the president of the national broadcaster of Ukraine NTU, as general producer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005.

Savenko will also join the reference group of the EBU which will meet every two months to discuss the latest issues about next years contest. Pavel Gritsak, the director of the international relations department of NTU, also joined this group, that will have their next meeting on the 2nd and 3rd September.

It is expected that the venue for next years contest will be chosen in that meeting. Tarmo Kriim of the EBU will investigate two possible venues in the second half of August.
