Broadcasters TROS and NOS revealed today that songs for the Dutch selection for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, the Nationaal Songfestival 2005, can be submitted until 1st October.
Just like this year, semi-finals will be organised. However, the amount is unknown. Some of our sources spoke about three semi-finals and one final, although nothing is sure yet. The semi-finals and the final will take place in the Pepsi Stage venue in Amsterdam, the same venue as this year.
To encourage artists to submit songs, the Conamus Foundation wrote to hundreds of composers, writers and singers to inform them about the Dutch national selection for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. Conamus was founded in 1962 to assist in furthering the work of Dutch music creators, to promote Dutch-penned material and to encourage the performance of Dutch popular music in the Netherlands and abroad.
The composer and writer of a song should have Dutch nationality or they should have a clear connection with the Dutch music scene.
