Iceland's national public broadcasting station RÚV announced plans for a national final in 2005.

After a disappointing result in 2004, when the Icelandic broadcaster RÚV decided to go with an internal selection to pick the nation's entry – due to a low budget that year – RÚV has announced plans for a national final again.

The news brought a smile upon the faces of many, which were deeply disappointed by RÚV's decision last year. According some of our sources, the national final is said to take place on 19th February, although no confirmation has yet been given.
