Hungary is preparing its return to the Eurovision Song Contest, according to OGAE Germany. National broadcaster MTV (Magyar Televízió) will give more information on its participation and the selection procedure in August.

Hungary has participated 4 times at the Eurovision Song Contest. Its debut in 1994 offered them a 4th place thanks to Friderika Bayer with the song Kinek mondjam el vetkeimet. Furthermore they participated with less success in 1995, 1997 and the last time in 1998.
