The President of the Ukraine Leonid Kuchma and the Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych are both involved directly to the organisation of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2005, most likely to be held in the capital of the country, Kiev. Baltic News Agency reported that on Thursday.

Leonid Kuchma is the patron of organising the contest and signed a decree which appointed the Prime Minister to be the head of the organising committee. The government has now two weeks to find the people to fill the necessary positions of the mentioned board and draw out an arrangement plan for the upcoming contest. Both, the City Government of Kiev and the Ukrainian government got the regulation to find the necessary funds to fulfill the plan. The national broadcaster, NTU, has the obligation to reflect the organisation as much as possible in the media.

Based on this information it is hard to believe the stories of the Ukraine refusing to organise the 2005 ESC are true like we reported a rumour before.
