The Israelian newspaper Yediot Aharonot wrote today that the 23 year old Sarit Chadad will represent Israel this Eurovision Song Contest.

However the announcement has not yet been confirmed by Israelian broadcaster IBA, the news came from a reliable newspaper.

Before the announcement was made, Chadad already confirmed in interviews that she would regard the opportunity to participate as a dream to come true. She participated in the 1999 KDAM and submitted a song in 2000, but never managed to win.

It is said that Tsvika Pik, who composed Diva for Dana International, will at least compose one of the four songs for the EBU. An internal commission at the IBA will choose the best song.

According to Channel 1 director Yizhak Zonenshein the winning song will be selected somewhere near the end of the year.
