Chris Doran to represent Ireland in Istanbul

Chris Doran has been chosen by the Irish audience to represent his country at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, after beating James Kilbane in the final of You're a star, which took place yesterday. The results show just took place.

Almost one million people voted after the Irish final. That means that more than 500,000 people voted for Doran's song If the world stops turning.

The song If the world stops turning has been written by Westlife member Bryan McFadden and Jonathan Shorten.
