More than 706,000 people watched Eirodziesma 2004 live on 28th Febuary on LTV1 and 406,000 more watched the rerun on LTV7 on 29th February. LTV has announced that also this year Eirodziesma has been one of the most watched television transmissions in Latvia.
Meanwhile, LTV's Eurovision project manager, Iveta Lepesko, is proud of the technical achievements and quality of the show this year. Director of transmission, Arvids Babris, has confirmed that he is also very satisfied with the job of operators and technical staff. During the past week, LTV has received a lot of compliments from television specialists and fans of the Eurovision Song Contest.
For the first time in the history of LTV a live connection was made with Sweden and the national selection in Göteborg. During the conversation it was confirmed that it will be possible to watch the Swedish national final on 20th March on LTV7.
On 28th February, more than 40,000 votes came in for Fomins & Kleins with the song Dziesma par laimi, who will thus represent Latvia in Istanbul. However, because of Latvia's poor results in 2003, they must first elbow their way through the qualification round on 12th May before perhaps going on to the grand final on the 15th.
