Seven national events on tonight's calendar

Tonight, seven national events can be found on the calendar. In Norway, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Switzerland the representative for the 2004 Eurovision song Contest will be chosen. In Sweden, Ireland, Greece and Romania semifinals take place.

During Melodi Grand Prix 2004, 12 participants will battle for the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest ticket. The show starts around 19:55 CET, the outcoming is planned to be revealed around 22:00 CET. The Norwegian national final will be transmitted live from the Oslo Spektrum venue. There is no sign of a live webstream yet.

During the third semifinal heat of Melodifestivalen 2004, eight participants will battle for two tickets for the Swedish national final, on 20th March. The third semifinal comes from Umeå, the venue is the Umeå Arena.

In Bosnia-Herzegovina, the audience will get the chance to select one of the six songs for Deen, who has already been selected internally to represent his country in Istanbul. Two of the four songs will be performed in English.

After six participants earned a final ticket last week, today again 12 performers can win 6 tickets for the Romanian national final on 13th March.

The Swiss national final consists of 12 songs. Each 4 of them was submitted by the regional broadcaster of the Italian-, French- and German speaking parts of the country. Broadcasters TSR (French) and RTSI (Italian) selected internally. The German speaking DSF sent the four most popular contestants of their MusicStar casting show.

The 23-year old Chris Doran and the 32-year old James Kilbane are now the two options for Ireland to send to the Eurovision Song Contest. Both are to perform a ballad in the final tonight. Chris Doran will sing If the world stops turning written by Westlife singer Brian McFadden, James Kilbane sings Losing you written by Charlie McGettigan, who won the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest together with Paul Harrington and their song Rock 'n roll kids. The result will be made public tomorrow night.

Around 18:30 CET the third EuroStar final takes place, in which the third participant for the final on 12th March will be selected. Antoni Domino and Apostolo Rsihrami are already selected for the final, tonight Gianna Fafaliou, Maria Roumatza and Valia Zolota battle for a final ticket.
