In one week, on 28th February, the winner of the Latvian national final Eirodziesma 2004 will be known.

Latvian Broadcaster LTV has released the information about the guest performers in the interval act of Eirodziesma 2004, and the winners of Estonian, Finnish, Ukraine and Maltese national finals will give a guest performance. It is still being discussed whether the audience will have the possibility to see and hear the Lithuanian representatives.

Following the tradition, the winners of the last year's Latvian final, the trio F.L.Y. as well as Dzintars Cica (Latvian entrant at the 2003 Junior Eurovision Song Contest), will appear on stage. The audience will meet the new and unusual project Re:public, whose music is a synthesis of etno elements and rock.

As esctoday.com wrote earlier, there are slight changes in the voting procedure. The first televote, after the performace of the ten songs, will determine the three Grand Finalists. Those three entries will be performed once more. The second televote will last for 10 minutes, and the first voting will not be added to the ones in the second.

Arvids Babris, director of Eirodziesma 2004, says:“Tthe year has started with the success of Latvian athletes. We hope to beat some records in music as well. Following the course of Eurovision project in Latvia, every year some new singers take part in the competition. They have become popular in the country after being in the national finals. This project is still free from the traditional criteria of popularity in music industry.”
