According to Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws the Belgian Eurovision Song Contest entry 1 life has been accused of plagiarism by the composers of One shot lover, sung by the group Venus.

Fred Bekky and Andy Free wrote One shot lover in 1984. In 1989, Sylvie Vartan had a hit with the song in France. But it's the remake made in 2000 for the new Venus that causes the 'problem'.

The composers of the song brought their complaint to the Belgian music authority SABAM. If their conclusion is that the song is indeed plagiarism, Bekky and Free will open a dialogue with Marc and Dirk Paelinck, the composers of 1 life.

The Paelinck brothers are incensed about the accusations. Now Xandee won, everyone wants to have the benefit of it. Of course we didn't copy anything! They add it's strange that the composers of One shot lover started to accuse them after the final, while Xandee already performed her song on 18th Janaury during the first semifinal.

Xandee herself certainly had no time to worry about it today as she had a royal meet and greet with King Albert and Queen Paola during their visit to Xandee's home town Tienen.
