More than 1.500.000 people watched the first semifinal of Eurosong 2004 on TV1 last Sunday. With a market share of almost 60% it was the best ever start for Eurosong! Tonight, the second semifinal takes place in Flanders, Belgium.

These are the seven artists wholl perform tonight in the second semifinal of Eurosong 2004:

Quatro – Never say goodbye
Kurt – My heart
Sofie Van Moll – Kerosene
Raf Van Brussel – Chemistry
CLIC – Vieze ouwe venten
Biba Binoche – Je chante pour toi
Elsie Moraïs – Amorè loco

Among the seven artists there are two Eurosong 2002 participants: Quatro is what rests of the Flemish Pop Stars groupe Vanda Vanda after one of the singers quit. They sing Never say goodbye, a pop song with a very high Steps percentage. Raf Van Brussel tries it for the second time as well with Chemistry. In 2002 he sang Flyin to the final but ended last.

Sofie Van Moll goes rock with Kerosene. Sofie is TV host on VRTs youth channel Ketnet, leadsinger of the Ketnetband, actress in the soap Spring and works for radio station Studio Brussel.

Besides, there are three new faces. Kurt Lotigiers, brother of famous Flemish singer Helmut Lotti, sings the ballad My heart. The girls from CLIC are going Dutch and sing Vieze ouwe venten (Dirty old men) and Elsie Moraïs sings the by reggae influenced R&B song Amorè loco.

But without a doubt, Biba Binoche is the star of the night. Betty Owczarek (her real name) became the number one sex symbol in Flanders when she competed in the first edition of Big Brother. At the end of 2000 she started a singing career under the name of Betty and scored several hits in English and Dutch.

Last year it was time for a change. The image of Betty had rather become a disadvantage for her career and so she went undercover as Biba Binoche. After a long search by the Flemish media it became clear that Betty was the voice behind Biba Binoches radio hit Je taime mélancolie. Tonight she sings Je chante pour toi (I sing for you), the only French song in Eurosong 2004. Biba Binoche gets the support of two of Flanders' best backing vocals. One of them is Danny Caen, a former participant of the Flemish national final and backing vocal of Sandra Kim at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986!

Who'll join last week's winner Xandee to the final that takes place on 15th February? Eurosong 2004: 20:15 CET on TV1.
