Xandee has won the first semifinal of Eurosong 2004 in Flanders with an impressive performance. With her dance song 1 Life she gained the maximum of all juries! 1 Life is written by the brothers Paelinck who also wrote the Belgian song for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002: Sister, performed by Sergio.

Xandee started her career as teenager together with Sergio in the dance groupe Touch of Joy. Both Sergio and Xandee went solo but didn�t reach the success they had before. Last year they decided to reunite as Touch of Joy.

For Eurosong 2004, Xandee again is on stage without Sergio since he didn�t want to get into the same Eurovision circus once again. Although Sergio keeps involved since he�s Xandee�s manager and adviser.

Worse news for Nicole & Hugo. Although they ended second with Love is all around, their chance to reach the final as one of the best scoring 3 out of 4 runners up is not very high since Xandee ran away with all maximum points and the Radio Donna jury gave them only 1 point!

This is surely going to end in a heavy discussion. Radio Donna has been criticized a lot for only playing 10 seconds of each song in the morning programme Vrouwentongen, a way too short preview on which the listeners have to judge by televote.

By winning the first semifinal, Xandee is sure of a ticket for the final on 15 February and of a performance at the Eurosong Live On Stage show in a sold out Antwerp Sportpaleis.
