However broadcasters have time until April 15 to confirm their passive participation, the Albanian national broadcaster Radiotelevizioni Shqiptar informed the EBU yesterday that they would like to be passive participants for 2002.
Radio Tirana and Albanian Television together constitute RTSH, which is a public broadcasting organisation (and the only one in the country).
Eurovision critics stated that the addition of a new European country is good, but that it will be hard for Albania to participate in 2003. Nobody is sure the national broadcaster can afford to organise the contest in case they win.
Yuguslavian broadcasters showed interest in being a passive participant, but none of them made it officially yet.
