ESC 2002 doesn't bring square nor round stage to Saku Suurhall. According to stage designer-team Iir Hermeliin, Ain Nurmela and Ülar Mark the stage will discard all ESC traditions.

How the stage will look we'll see in May, says Iir Hermeliin. The first version of the stage was changed on the 26th of October. “The main theme of the stage is the same, but we only changed the measures of it, so it's more interesting to follow”, explained Iir Hermeliin.

Designer-Team said that they want to use the audience as part of the stage. Placement of the chairs and viewers is like decorating a TV- studio.

“By December it will be clear what the stage in reality will look like”, said Hermeliin.

The team got their inspiration from the main theme of ESC – “a modern fairytale” and they describe Estonia as a modern and young country where
are creative people living in.
