Esctoday.com earlier reported that 70 songs were submitted for the Lithuanian national final. 54 of the 70 songs were selected for the semifinals. There will be 6 semifinals in Lithuania, starting on 3rd January. The top 3 of each semifinal will go on to the final on 14th February.

During the qualifying rounds that are to begin on 3rd January 2004 and will be broadcast on LTV for six Saturdays in turn, the public vote will be deciding. The 18 songs with the highest scores in the qualifying rounds will participate in the national selection final that will take place in Kaunas on 14th February 2004. The song that will represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 will be selected by 50% of public vote and 50% of the commission formed by LRT vote.
