The third season of the Spanish talent show, Operación Triunfo, ended tonight with the announcement of Vicente (picture) as this year's winner. Ramon ended second and Miguel followed in the third position.
Vicente, who won with 25,07% of the votes in the final, was one of the leading candidates for a victory, throughout this season, as he had been voted several weeks in a row as the public's favourite. He was awarded with a 100,000 euros prize as well as a new car. His runner ups were also awarded with cars and smaller money prizes. All three winners won contracts for their own first album at the Vale Music record label.
Although the race seems to be over, the Eurovision campaign in Spain is now entering it's final course. Tonight's winners will be joined by one more 'wild card' contestant, one of those who were ranked 4-9 in this season. All four of them will now compete for the right to represent Spain at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest's final in Istanbul, on May 15th.
