The Slovene broadcaster RTVSLO revealed that 83 songs were submitted for EMA 2004, the Slovenian Eurovision Song Contest preselection, by 28th November which was the last day for the songs to be submitted.
In the following days a four member jury will select 32 songs for the 4 semifinals taking place in January. The draw for the seminfinals will take place on 12 December at Gospodarsko razstavièe, former and possible venue for the big EMA final. It is expected that the titles as well as the performers of the songs will be revealed a few days before 12 December.
Because of the rule that the winning song must be performed in the same language as in EMA, it is interesting to see that among the 83 songs submitted, only 17 of them are sung partially or entirely in English.
