The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have confirmed the withdrawal of Hungarian broadcaster MTV for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, informs the website eurosong.net.

Monaco, Luxembourg and Hungary were on the provisional list of participants for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. Luxembourg, however, withdrew their interest in participation, and now Hungary follow up. MTV claim that they cannot afford sending a delegation to Istanbul.

Countries can withdraw their provisional participation until 1st December, 2003 without consequences.
