More than 500 entries arrived at the NRK office in Oslo, sumitted for the Norwegian national final for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

NRK gave two possible reasons for the high amount of submitted songs, compared with previous years. First, Norway's result in the previous edition of the contest was good, secondly the enormous amount of submitted songs in Sweden can be a reason. Those who didn't succeed to reach the Swedish preselection were able to send in their song for Norway.

A selection committee will select 10-12 songs for the Norsk Melodi Grand Prix, which will take place in Oslo on 6th March, 2004.
