According to the website Eurovision-Spain.com, The third season of the Spanish pre-selection series, Operación Triunfo, will be ended by this christmas.

Eurovision-Spain.com reports today that Josep Mª Mainat, who is the executive manager of Gestmusic, the company in chrage of the series production, has told in an interview in Spain that the upcoming season of Operación Triunfo will be ended by this christmas. This was decided in order to allow a better marketing plan to be implemented, in terms of video clips, album recordings etc.

Earlier it was reported that the third season will go on air on September 29th. This means that this year's season will only last for about two months, which is much shorter than in the previous two seasons. The Spanish entry to the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest is expected to be determined sometime after the final show of the series, as in previous seasons, when the last 3 finalists competed for the right to represent their country in the contest.
