The 2019 Azerbaijani 2019 Eurovision hopeful, Chingiz, has unveiled his stage team for Tel Aviv. He will be accompanied by five talented singers on stage.

Chingiz (Azerbaijan 2019)  has announced his stage team for Tel Aviv with an emotional unplugged version of his entry song ‘Truth’. #teamchingiz will be joined five backing vocalists who are mostly not newcomers to Eurovision.

  • Pernille Leeloo -participated in Danish national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix this year.
  • Sara Linnea– reached Melodifestivalen 2012 final.
  • Peter Simpson– currently is working with Cesar Sampson (Austria, Eurovision 2018).
  • Patrik Jean – will join Chingiz on stage to boost his Eurovision entry.
  • Cedrik Hammar will accompany  Chingiz  on stage to bring to life his song and to share his story of ‘Truth’ toxic love relationship.

Chingiz says:

I’m so happy to have these truly talented and extremely professional guys joining me on the stage in Tel Aviv!

Together with our musical producer Isa Melikov, brilliant vocal coach Alex Panayi and ‘Truth’ songwriter Borislav Milanov we went through so many singers’ profiles to select ones who will bring their own touch to my song and make it even more colorful for the live performance.

Since the first rehearsal it all worked perfectly between us, like a beautiful harmony.

About Chingiz

Chingiz was selected via an internal selection in order to represent the Land of Fire aka Azerbaijan at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Truth.

Azerbaijan in Eurovision

Azerbaijan aka The Land of Fire joined the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 and has won the competition once, namely in 2012 with Eldar & Nikki‘s Running scared. The following year the country welcomed the Eurovision bandwagon for the very first time in its majestic capital Baku.

The Caucasian nation has partaken in Europe’s favorite television show 11 times, having competed in the event every year since its debut in 2008.

In 2018 Azerbaijan went internal and selected Aisel to fly the Azerbaijani flag at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with her entry X my heart, despite an extraordinary performance she failed to qualify to the Grand Final.

Chingiz and Azerbaijan will close in the Second Semi-final of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv on Thursday 16 May.
