Latvia: MUSIQQ meet local press

MUSIQQ this year's Eurovision Song Contest representatives from Latvia meet with leading Latvian press and media in Riga to discuss the duos plans for Dusseldorf. The two performer answered questions regarding their plans, mood, and expectations in regards to this year's contest. The pre-departure press conference was organised by the Latvian Broadcaster, LTV. The manager of LTV1, Baiba Smite, took part in press conference along with Latvian Head of Deligation Zita Kaminska and MUSIQQ, Emils Balceris and Marats Ogleznevs MUSIQQ.

MUSIQQ has decided to keep the same stage performance as in the Latvian final earlier this year, however they will make adjustments to feet the stage in Dusseldorf. The two guys said that they wanted to show their respect and gratitude to their Latvian fans as they had voted for that performance the national final. With regards to their expectations, Emils and Marats as well as their back vocalists, said they will do their best to reach the final but at the same time they admit that Eurovision is like musical Olympic games and a lot depends on their professional skills and abilities and at the same time some moments depend on good luck, too.

MUSIQQ have been working hard on the promotional tour for the past month. Initially, they became known in their home country singing Latvian only, but due to their participation in Eurovision Song Contest, some of their songs have now been written with English lyrics. Their first Latvian hit Abrakadabra, included in the CD single, has recorded in English. Following the press conference, MUSIQQ held a concert accompanied by a live band and singing their own songs as well as cover versions including the Eurovision evergreen Volare.

The Latvian delegation will arrive in Dusseldorf on May 3 in good time for their the first rehearsal on the following day. MUSIQQ will perform in the Eurovision Song Contest as number 17 in the second semi final on May 12.
