The first participant of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Turkey is known! Sofia will represent Portugal next year at the 49th edition of the contest.

The 29-year old Sofia won Operação Triunfo in Portugal, which means she will automatically represent her country at the next Eurovision Song Contest.

In the next months the Portuguese broadcaster RTP will search for a suitable song for Sofia.
