Swedish broadcaster SVT has published a preview of the Melodifestivalen stage design through their official facebook page. The first semi final of Sweden's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast live from Luleå next Saturday, 5th February.

The stage, which appears to be smaller than in recent years, is dominated by a horse shoe shaped LED light construction. So far, the design appears to be received generally well by the followers of Melodifestivalen's official facebook page, who call it fint (nice), häftig (imposing) or simply amazing. As every year, the same stage design will be used for all six shows.

Melodifestivalen 2011 will kick off next Saturday with eight acts fighting for the first two spots in the final. The first semi final will be followed by heats in Gothenburg, Linköping and Malmö as well as a second chance round in Sundsvall. The grand final will be held in Stockholm 12th March.
